Bass ampflication

bass amplification

The bass amplifier is an important part of getting the "weight" behind a band.

Like guitarists most bass players will start with a small transistor amplifier. Bass players unlike guitarists will find the limitations of their first amplifier quickly, because of the bass resonance produced by their instrument, and will graduate to at least 100w combo with 15" speaker as soon as they are able.

Over the last few years bass amplifiers have drastically improved in quality and it is no longer necessary to have a huge un-movable amp to get a big sound. Manufacturers such as Laney and Fender now produce some very good light but powerful amplification for bass..

We offer a price match policy and will take special orders

We also offer comprehensive instrument tuition at the Avalon Music School which is situated above the store.
