The home keyboard is for many people an inexpensive introduction to their first keyboard instrument.
With a starting price of well under £100 these instruments feature various sounds & backings with easy play facilities, such as single finger chords etc.
The range of products is huge with more experienced players requiring a variation in length of keyboard, better onboard amplification and sound quality.
Although you can learn to play piano up to a point on a keyboard (it must be at least 61 keys with touch sensitivity), we really recommend that you look at a digital piano which will enable the player to play any keyboard based instrument much easier and with more feel.
